37 Military Hospital to hold a mass burial for unclaimed bodies on September 1
A public service statement about an upcoming mass burial exercise for unidentified and unclaimed dead in its morgue has been released by the 37 Military Hospital.
The buildup of these bodies has caused congestion and hampered the effectiveness of day-to-day operations at the facility, thus the hospital administration emphasized the need to solve the problem.
The last mass burial exercise was carried out on March 11, 2017, according to a news statement from the Ghanaian Armed Forces. On Friday, September 1, 2023, the hospital will execute the planned mass burial in order to avoid additional congestion and manage the situation appropriately.
The 37 Military Hospital is asking for the public’s help in order to locate and identify the dead before the planned mass burial. The Department of Anatomical Pathology at the hospital should be visited by family members who believe their loved ones may be among the unclaimed dead between Thursday, August 3, and Thursday, August 31, 2023.
The hospital administration requests the public’s understanding and cooperation throughout this delicate procedure. Identification and claim of the bodies will lessen the strain on the morgue, provide closure for the families, and ensure that the deceased are treated with dignity.
Concerned parties can reach out to the 37 Military Hospital for more information or inquiries, or they can check their official website for updates on the mass burial exercise.
