Black Sherif on his relationship with his former label: “We don’t talk, but we are not enemies.”
Black Sherif , the current VGMA Artiste of the Year, claims that despite their lack of communication, he is not at war with his previous label.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, ‘Blacko’, as he is widely called showed a lot of maturity in answering the questions he was asked.
One of the issues that popped up in the conversation was about his relationship with his former record label, Wayne Chavis Records.
He mentioned that ever since his big win, his former label has not congratulated him.
“We no dey talk but we no be enemies too,” said Black Sherif in Pidgin English.
“I am very fast to keep things behind me and move on. I don’t care too much about things that will drain my energy because I have a lot of problems and things I am dealing with and I am not comfortable sharing.
“So I keep adding things like this behind me,” he explained.”
Since Black Sherif parted ways with Wayne Chavis Records, he has gained higher heights in his career as a musician, which includes the VGMA ‘Artiste of the Year’ award.
‘The Villain I Never Was’ is the name of his sole album.
The record was well-liked by music fans and appeared on international music charts.
However, Snap Wayne Chavis, also known as Shadrach Agyei Owusu, has returned to the music scene with a fresh group of musicians.
Snap Wayne Chavis has kept his aspirations alive despite the altercation with his previous artist, Black Sherif, which nearly led to his exit from the music industry.
The building contractor and pharmacist who later turned into a music enthusiast claims he has always been passionate in backing pure talent. He has become an unrelenting investment, ready to go against all the odds.
