The manager of Ghanaian Afrobeats musician Camidoh, George Mensah Britton, has said that only Black Sherif poses a threat to his artist’s prospects of taking home the Artiste of the Year title at the upcoming VGMAs.

The music executive said that his singer was on track to creating history at the awards ceremony after receiving five prestigious nominations, including the top honor of singer of the Year, in an interview with Class FM.

“On the night, we’re expecting nothing but success. He explained, “For him to be nominated in that category indicates it may win.

The inclusion of the popular Ghanaian musician Black Sherif in the same category as his artist, however, could hurt their chances of winning, said Britton.

“To be really honest, I believe that Black Sherif will be the sole rival there. I don’t see somebody like that causing trouble for Camidoh except than him,” he remarked.

Camidoh, who made waves with his “Sugarcane” single and its remix, was unnoticed for a while before his management team decided to rethink their approach and elevate their brand.

“Two years ago, he was an underground artist, but he has worked hard to rise to the top and a lot has been invested in him,” he noted.

Camidoh has been nominated in the Best Afrobeats Song of the Year, Best Male Vocal Performance of the Year, Best International Collaboration of the Year, Best Afrobeats Artist of the Year, and Most Popular Song of the Year categories. VGMA
