Jordan Ayew has already outscored his legendary father Abedi Pele in goals scored for Ghana.
Jordan Ayew of Crystal Palace accomplished a great feat in his football career by surpassing his father’s heritage of Black Stars goals scored.
Ayew not only helped his team win the thrilling 3-1 victory over Liberia on Tuesday, but he also cemented his place in Ghanaian football history.
Ayew made an impact after coming on as a replacement for Ernest Nuamah in the 62nd minute by scoring a key goal in the 82nd.
With this achievement, he surpasses his father, Abedi Pele, in the Black Stars’ all-time goalscoring list.
Ayew now shares a 20-goal haul with Wilberforce Mfum, Sulley Muntari, and Mohammed Polo, which speaks to his prodigious talent and persistent commitment on the pitch. Abedi Pele, his father, finished his great career with 19 goals.
Jordan Ayew has scored 20 goals in 92 appearances, while three-time African Footballer of the Year Abedi Pele scored 19 goals in 73 games before retiring.
Jordan is now three goals behind Andre Ayew, the Black Stars‘ captain, and their brother.
