Police detain four people in Kupelga after a woman is abused in a viral video.
Four suspects have been detained, according to the police, in relation to a social media video that showed a female victim being treated in a “inhumane” and “degrading” manner by a group of guys.
According to reports, the incident had place in the Upper East Region near Kupelga.
According to a statement released by the police on Tuesday, June 13, “The four suspects are currently in Police custody and assisting the investigation while efforts continue to arrest other accomplices to face justice,”
Awizore Amolt, Akolbila Asorwogo, Atibila Aladago, and Akolbila Ben are the four suspected detainees.
Following a preliminary examination into the origin of the film, they were detained at Kupelga on Tuesday, June 13 as part of a police intelligence operation.
The suspects will be ready for court to face justice, according to the police.
In the interim, “arrangements have been made for a police clinical psychologist to provide her psycho-social support” and the victim and her family have been informed.
