Sevilla eliminated Man United from the Europa League
The Europa League was over for Manchester United after a terrible performance in a loss to Sevilla.
Youssef En-Nesyri’s goal after Harry Maguire’s blunder gave the Spanish team the lead after eight minutes.
After En-Nesyri took advantage of goalkeeper David de Gea’s error to seal the victory, Sevilla increased their lead with a looping header from defender Loic Bade.
United left Europe with a whimper as they were far from their best.
Erik Ten Hag’s team failed miserably in this first test of a string of games that might decide United’s season. On Sunday, they play Brighton at Wembley in the FA Cup semifinals, and on April 27, they travel to Tottenham for a crucial Premier League match.
On May 11 and 18, Sevilla and Juventus will face off in a semifinal matchup over two legs. Sporting was defeated by the Italian team 2-1 overall in the quarterfinal.
