Basketball: Ghana defeats Nigeria to win the African Basketball Festival

Last Friday at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Ghana overcame Nigeria 33-32 to win the African Basketball Festival.
Under the illumination of floodlights, an intriguing match between teams of resident basketball players from Ghana and Nigeria was played. The Ghanaian team hung on to defeat its West African rivals by a single point and claim bragging rights.

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) basketball team, which was a last-minute replacement for the USA select squad, defeated France 33-30 in the game that came before the Ghana-Nigeria match.

The French made an explosive start to the game, but the GIS squad battled back to win.

In the upcoming games, the victors will give their winnings to the orphanage of their choice.

RITE Sports coordinated the event with the help of the Beyond the Return Committee.

It also featured a fashion show by Beautiful Beneath, Bloom by Edzi and Elikem Kumordzi as well as some musical performances.
