Black Queens have qualified for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite a 0-1 loss to Namibia in the final round of qualifications today, December 5, 2023, Ghana’s Black Queens have secured their position in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.

The game was played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa, and the Queens won the two-leg match 3-2 on aggregate after winning the first leg 3-1 in Accra last Friday.

The Namibians seized the lead in the 22nd minute, forcing the Queens to work hard throughout each half of the game in quest of an equalizer, but their efforts were futile, as the game ended 1-0 in favor of the Namibians but 3-2 on aggregate for the Ghanaians. Black Queens

A total of 12 teams will qualify for the WAFCON group rounds, joining the automatically qualifying hosts Morocco.

So far, defending champions South Africa and Algeria have qualified for the 15th edition of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) biennial African women’s football competition.

Morocco will host consecutive tournaments, having hosted the previous event in 2022.
