After losing it to nature in the past, Medeama SC’s board chairman voiced his confidence in the team’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League in 2022–203. This suggests that the appropriate time has now come.

With just one round of games remaining in the season, The Yellow and Mauves are one victory away from winning the championship as they sit three points ahead of Bechem United in second place.

In 2018, the league’s completion was postponed as the Number 12 Exposé rattled Ghana football’s foundations. When the league eventually resumed, the global pandemic COVID-19 had already banned the majority of contact sports worldwide, which also had an impact on the Ghana Premier League.

Dr. Aubynn asserts that, given their standing in the league prior to the competition’s suspension, the team would have won the title at the end of those seasons had it not been for the suspension of play.

“We are confident of winning the league, we think that we have been hard done by nature you remember that during the normalisation period, we were in a comfortable lead and then the league was truncated,” he said to Graphic Sports.

We were also ahead before COVID-19 when the government postponed the league, and Dr. Aubynn declared, “We think we have not been treated fairly by nature so it’s our time to win.”

At the Akoon Park, Medeama will play Tamale City to end their campaign in a game that might award them the Ghana Premier League.
