After defeating King Faisal at Akoon Park on Friday afternoon, Medeama increased their advantage at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.

Evans Adotey’s team was ready to extend their advantage after passing Aduana Stars last weekend as they welcomed a struggling King Faisal team that had dropped their previous three away games.

Samuel Kusi gave the Insha Allah Boys the lead in the 10th minute, demonstrating their tenacity in the fierce relegation struggle.

The youthful defender Nurudeen Abdulai leveled the score ten minutes later, ensuring a statement at halftime, although their advantage was fleeting.

Joshua Agyemang was introduced by Adotey in the second half, and he scored the game-winning goal shortly after coming off the bench to secure all three points for the Tarkwa-based team.

With 56 points after the victory, Medeama is four points ahead of Aduana Stars while they wait for the rest of the round 32 matchups.

King Faisal, meantime, will need to perform above themselves and anticipate favorable outcomes from fellow underachievers in order to secure a spot in the top division for the upcoming season.

With 36 points, they are still in 17th place, just above of the already-relegated Kotoku Royals.
