Comedian Michael Blackson, who is American-Ghanian, has entered the rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria by drawing comparisons between the two nations’ renowned jollof rice dish and their respective football teams’ performance at the AFCON.
He entered the contest immediately following Nigeria’s National Men’s Football Team’s penalty-filled victory over South Africa to earn a spot in the 2023 AFCON championship game.
With the game finishing 1-1 after extra time, Nigeria won 4-2 on penalties and advanced to play for their fourth AFCON title on Sunday, February 11.
Ghana, on the other hand, crashed out of the competition in the first round of the AFCON after failing to win a game for the second straight year.
Blackson made light of Ghana’s performance at the AFCON while praising Nigeria.
