Mohammed Kudus, a great player for Ghana, is among the Ajax players who have received squad numbers for the next season.

The former FC Nordsjaelland midfielder is anticipated to keep wearing the number 20 jersey and build on his impressive performance from the previous campaign.

The 23-year-old, however, has been the subject of transfer rumors over the past few weeks as a result of interest from a number of elite European clubs, with Premier League teams thought to be the front-runners for his signing.

Chelsea was rumored to have reached a personal deal with the player a few weeks ago as they sought an experienced attacker for the upcoming season, but no formal bid was announced in that regard.

After that, it was rumored that Brighton and Hove Albion and Ajax had also reached an agreement on a price for the player, but there has been no further word on those negotiations.

Ajax has set a deadline of Wednesday for any interested clubs to come to an agreement with Kudus, which is expected to cost roughly 40 million euros. The Dutch behemoths are anticipated to shut their doors to any club if the deadline has passed unless a larger sum is presented.

At the 2022 World Cup, Kudus shone for Ghana with two goals and one assist in three games while scoring 18 goals across all competitions for his club.
