Mohammed Kudus will cost Brighton and Hove Albion of the English Premier League £35 million, according to a deal reached with Ajax.

The Ghanaian international, who has been a target for Brighton all summer but has also drawn interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, is still the subject of ongoing negotiations.

The 23-year-old, who can play on either the wing or behind the striker, informed Ajax that he did not want to renew his contract and that a transfer this summer would benefit all parties.

The Seagulls want to complete the specifics in the upcoming days.

English clubs were drawn to Mohammed Kudus’ World Cup performance for Ghana.
Kudus, who began his professional career with the Danish team Nordsjaelland before joining Ajax, had an outstanding season in the Dutch Eredivisie last year, scoring 11 goals and dishing out three assists.

However, the youngster’s World Cup performances in Qatar last year were what really caught people’s attention about the Ghana midfielder.

Prior to Ghana’s elimination from the World Cup, the 23-year-old scored twice for the Black Stars during their three Group Stage games.

According to earlier reports, Chelsea of West London was interested in signing Kudus as a way to improve their attacking alternatives.

His arrival most likely corresponds with Alexis MacAllister’s departure from the team earlier in the transfer window, when he signed a lucrative deal with Liverpool.

After making an impression while playing for his old team, FC Nordsjaelland, Kudus was acquired by Ajax in 2020 for £8 million.

The midfielder has won two Eredivisie championships and scored 23 goals in 84 games throughout his three years with the Dutch powerhouses.

If the deal goes through, Kudus will join his Ghana teammate Tariq Lamptey on the English side.
