Akosua Agyapong — Some secrets must die with you
HIGHLIFE musician Akosua Agyapong agrees that some things are best kept private and has joined the chorus of artists who have criticized actress and director Yvonne Nelson for disclosing that she aborted a child for rapper Sarkodie.
In her book I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, which was published on June 18, 2023, at the Peduase Valley Resort, Yvonne Nelson made the admission.
The Frema singer claimed in an interview with Rapid Showbiz on Tuesday, June 20, that if she had been in Yvonne Nelson’s position, she would never have revealed that information.
“Some realities are better kept hidden because, in the end, they will hurt you. What do your supporters think of you today? For any ambassadorial deals, you cannot affiliate with recognized brands.
“Yvonne and Sarkodie are both well-known, so why bring this problem up in the first place? Is the purpose to degrade both reputations? She questioned, “What is her problem? She has a child now so what is her problem? If she couldn’t bear a child again after the abortion, that could be understandable bringing this subject up.
“This is so private that no one should hear of it,” Akosua Agyapong said. “We all have skeletons in our closets.”
“Why should I speak poorly of my past? We all have a story to tell, but for the sake of our loved ones and our future, we need to decide what we want to share.
Whatever it is, I think Yvonne should have sought guidance before disclosing anything, and if she did, whoever counseled her to do that did not assist her.
“How will Sarkodie get through this? If Tracy, his wife, hears this for the first time, what would she think? Simply proceed with caution, she advised Rapid Showbiz.
Akosua Agyapong also urged the media to focus more on I am Not Yvonne Nelson’s good aspects rather than on the termination of the pregnancy.
I believe the book contains a lot of positive stuff that may be discussed based on the themes I have read so far. We are concentrating on the drawbacks even though there is so much in the book to learn from,” she remarked.
