Charles Adu Boahen receives a corruption report from OSP ; A-G is deemed most qualified to handle the case.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is not directly responsible for the alleged corruption and corruption-related offenses involving Charles Adu Boahen, a former Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance.
According to the OSP’s investigative results, which were released today [Oct 30], the Attorney-General may be in charge of those alleged offenses.
Due to jurisdictional concerns, the OSP concluded that the A-G, not the OSP, is the one most suited to handle it. Charles
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo asked the OSP to look into the accusations made against Mr. Adu Boahen on November 14, 2022. The claims were found in the investigative documentary “Galamsey Economy,” which was made by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

7.1 Despite the fact that Mr. Adu Boahen’s actions are akin to influence peddling or dealing, which is strongly linked to corruption, the OSP is not legally required to take further action against him for any of his actions.
7.2 Based on that calculation, the Special Prosecutor orders the investigation into the claims of corruption and offenses related to corruption involving Charles Adu Boahen to be closed at this time.
