Despite earning a spot in the FA Cup semifinals, King Faisal assistant coach Godwin Ablordey believes his team is still focused on winning the fight for survival in the Ghana Premier League.

The Insha Allah team stunned Aduana Stars in penalties in the quarterfinals after a thrilling 0-0 stalemate after extra time. With two victories, they may win the FA Cup for the first time.

However, Ablordey is eager to earn a spot in the Ghana Premier League for the upcoming season. He asserted that King Faisal would be qualified for the FA Cup even if they did not win the Premier League this year.

“I’m not considering the FA Cup. We must continue playing in the league, thus I’m considering the league. We are simply focusing on the league to ensure that we stay in the league because FA Cup when you are out you can still play. We are now concentrating on this. We are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, but it has been canceled. We are currently considering the league,” he stated following the game. Godwin Ablordey

In the semifinals, King Faisal would play either Dreams FC, Sky FC, or Nsoatreman.

After 25 games, they are 10th in the league standings with points. On April 16, they will host Dreams FC in their following league contest.
