Jordan Ayew reached a significant milestone in his career as he scored his 100th career goal in Crystal Palace’s clash against West Ham United last Saturday.

Ayew scored a superb goal to give the Eagles a thrilling 4-3 victory at Selhurst Park on Saturday, giving him 100 goals in more than 500 appearances.

Ayew has so far scored for six different teams. The 31-year-old scored 22 goals for Marseille between 2009 and 2014.

He was subsequently leased out by the French club to Sochaux, where he scored 5 goals. Before moving to England, Ayew spent time with Lorient, a French team, where he amassed 13 goals.

Ayew joined Aston Villa in 2015, where he amassed 10 goals. Later, he relocated to Swansea City, where he scored 12 goals in his time there. Ayew has scored 19 goals for Crystal Palace since his 2018 signing.

The 31-year-old, who has scored 19 goals since making his debut in 2010, has also been an important member of the Ghanaian national squad.

Ayew has had a stellar recent run of play, scoring three goals and dishing out two assists in his last six outings. His recent success came just as senior boss Roy Hodgson made a triumphant comeback and praised the striker’s progress.

Ayew has always been strong, a terrific dribbler, and difficult to dislodge, according to Hodgson, but he has improved in other areas of his game. The management commended Ayew’s increased situational awareness and decision-making abilities.

“He was always strong, he was always good at holding off challenges, he was very difficult to take the ball from and he was a good dribbler.”

“But he’s added to his game. He’s added the awareness of what’s around him and when maybe it’s not the right time to attempt the dribble or the turn and to do something else, which is a great compliment to him. Also, of course, he’s scored some goals.”
