Dreams scored in both halves of the match to win the largest trophy in Ghanaian football. Abdul Aziz Issah put his team on the right track with the first goal in the 20th minute, and Sadiq Alhassan secured the win with the second goal in the 71st.

Issah’s goal-bound shot was deflected for a corner kick in the seventh minute of the match despite King Faisal playing at their adopted home grounds. Coach Karim Zito’s team controlled the exchanges and exuded a lot of confidence on the ball, signaling their intentions. MTN FA Cup

Agyenim Boateng Mensah squared a pass to Issah on the right and outran his defender Baba Yahaya into the Faisal penalty box before unleashing a left-footed shot beyond goalkeeper Adams Abdul Jabal for the opening goal. Dreams did not relent in their onslaught and relied on long balls as they probed for the opener. MTN FA Cup

Three minutes later, Huzaf Ali came close to doubling the score, but goalie Jabal saved the day by diving to push the ball away.
Faisal entered the game in the closing seconds of the first half, and they quickly picked up the pace again in the opening minutes of the second as they battled back in pursuit of the equalizing goal.

However, goalkeeper Jabal’s bad clearing of a back pass by Joseph Adu Dwomoh in the second half caused them to lose the advantage they had over the play. Mensah, who had just come off the bench, received the poorly cleared ball and immediately began to attack by passing it to Godfed Attuahene on the right. He selflessly squared the ball to an unmarked Alhassan, who scored the second goal with a ground shot that the Faisal goalie was unable to stop.

Until referee Gideon Nii Cofie ended the exchanges, Dreams maintained their advantage, igniting a spontaneous celebration from the team’s supporters inside the stadium.

Kurt Simeon-Okraku, the GFA President who also created the Dawu-based club, gave the trophy to Dreams captain Ibrahim Abdulai to commemorate a new turning point in the club’s history.
