See the updated transportation prices as of May 17.
Following a consistent decline in the cost of petroleum products over the past few weeks, transportation providers have agreed to slash tickets beginning on May 17, 2023.
The judgment was made public by the Road Transport Operators in a news release that was released on Monday, May 15. The statement, which was jointly signed by Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah, General Secretary of the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council, and Godfred Adulbire, General Secretary of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), stressed that the fare adjustment is in accordance with the “Administrative Arrangement on Public Transport Fares,” taking into account the observed decreases in petroleum prices during this time.
Shared taxis, intra-city (trotro), inter-city (long-distance buses), and haulage vehicles will all be subject to the new rates. The operators demanded that commercial transportation companies abide by the new rates and publicly post them at their loading stations.
“We kindly request all operators, commuters, and the general public to cooperate fully to ensure the successful implementation of the revised fares,” the statement further advised.
