The EC announces the dates for the DLE and voter registration drive, with a goal of registering 1,350,000 persons.
Dates for the start of the District Level Elections (DLE) and the voter registration drive in 2023 have been announced by the Electoral Commission.
By the end of the Registration operation this year, the EC intends to have registered 1,350,000 people.
The enrollment period will run from Tuesday, September 12, 2023, through Monday, October 2, 2023.
On the other side, the DLE will be held on December 19, 2023, in all of the districts’ 6,272 electoral zones, with the exception of Nkoranza North and South in the Bono East Region.
The EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, provided details of the announcement at the first press conference of the year, titled “Let the Citizen Know,” held in Accra on Thursday, August 17. Mensa said that at the time of the last registration drive in 2020, the National Identification Authority (NIA) had registered more than 10 million people.
