Following a pivotal goal for Athletic Bilbao against Osasuna on Tuesday in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals, Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams rediscovered his scoring touch.

Osasuna entered the game with the advantage following a narrow victory in the first leg, but Bilbao was resolved to reverse the outcome and applied tremendous pressure from the outset.

When Williams, after a skillfully executed corner kick, slammed the ball into the roof of the goal in the 33rd minute to tie the game on aggregate, that was the turning point.

Inaki Williams’ 24-game goalless streak was broken by the goal, which also forced additional time because of Bilbao’s carelessness.

Pablo Ibanez scored a goal for Osasuna with four minutes remaining in extra time, giving them the advantage on the whole again and allowing them to beat Athletic Bilbao and advance to the Copa del Rey championship.

Inaki Williams would be happy to have scored after more than five months, despite the team’s elimination.
