Zinchenko – I’ve played with Rodri and against Casemiro, but Thomas Partey is the best.
Oleksandr Zinchenko of Arsenal claims that Thomas Partey is the best holding midfielder he has ever played with despite having played with some of football’s most illustrious figures.
Partey, a star player for Arsenal who joined from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £45.3 million, has been the subject of recent rumors linking him to a possible transfer abroad.
The midfielder is wanted by a number of teams, including Galatasaray, for the Turkish Super Lig.
Partey was unabashedly praised by Zinchenko in an open interview with the YouTube channel FIVE, who identified him as the Premier League’s most undervalued player.
A question comparing Partey to Manchester United’s Casemiro was asked of the young Ukrainian athlete during the interview.
Zinchenko avoided disparaging remarks and underlined Partey’s importance, especially in the presence of accomplished players like Casemiro. I don’t want to say something negative,” he said. World-class athlete Casemiro has won five Champions Leagues. However, if I had to pick, Partey would be my choice.
Zinchenko began to reflect on his teammates, holding midfielders, Fernandinho, Rodri, and Partey, who represent a group of difficult decisions. He acknowledged the impact of Fernandinho, saying, “I watched Fernandinho while he was at Shakhtar, and he helped me so much. Like an elder brother, I adore him.
Rio Ferdinand, a former player for Manchester United and England, joined the conversation and asked whether Partey was better than Rodri for Manchester City.
Ferdinand made a sign of surprise in response to Zinchenko’s brief hesitation. Then the Ukrainian player said, “Rio, please stop by training and see him. He is fully equipped.
Zinchenko continued by explaining, drawing on his knowledge as Rodri’s former teammate at Manchester City, that “He fits so well in City’s system, take him out and it is definitely a different city.” He is the major element, and playing that position is difficult.
