The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has expressed gratitude to Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaba Torkornoo for working frantically on getting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to approve the new salary structure.

The revised compensation reviews for the judicial employees have been given President Akufo-Addo’s approval, according to a letter from the Chief Justice dated July 13, 2023.

The letter specifies that implementation will take place at the end of July.

The Chief Justice was recognized by JUSAG’s national executives for her dedication despite taking office during the “difficult periods” in a press statement on Monday, July 17.

Although the process was difficult, we are happy that her creativity and outstanding leadership, along with the help of other stakeholders, enabled the engagement to be concluded on June 15, 2023, with the understanding that the implementation of the reviewed salaries would begin in July 2023.

The National Executive Council (NEC) of JUSAG afterward issued a statement in which it said: “The National Executive Council (NEC) of JUSAG wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to our mother Chief Justice for the good start, and to immediately former Chief Justice, Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah for his efforts.”

According to the Association, “we shall work with her and management to rebrand the Judicial Service and build upon the success chalked up by the Judiciary and the Judicial Service over the years.” Justice Torkornoo received this assurance from the Association.
