Theresa Kufuor, a former first lady of Ghana, passed away at the age of 87.

John Agyekum Kufuor, the second President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, was married to Theresa Kufuor.

She was a former midwife and nurse.

The former First Lady’s death was reported by a family member to Rapid News on Sunday night [October 1, 2023].

On the Peduase section of the Aburi mountain, it took place in the late afternoon.

John Kufuor and Mrs. Kufuor have been married for 61 years, beginning in 1962.

After completing her studies at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and Paddington General Hospital in London, Mrs. Kufuor spent the majority of her professional life in the UK. She then obtained her certification as a state-certified midwife and a certificate in premature nursing. Theresa Kufuor

She was the last child born to her parents and went by the name Theresa Mensah before marrying John Kufuor. J.H. Mensah, a former leader of the NPP, was her older brother.

At the Catholic Convent in Keta, in the Volta Region, Mrs. Kufuor began her formal education. She then traveled to London and graduated from the Southern Hospital Group of Nursing in Edinburgh, Scotland, to become a registered nurse.

She earned her nursing certificates in premature care after completing her education at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and Paddington General Hospital in London. She is now a state-certified midwife.

Theresa and John Kufuor met at a Republic Day Anniversary Dance in London in 1961, and when he was 23 years old, they got married. They were married in 1962. Theresa and John Kufuor are parents of five kids.

For eight years, from January 7, 2001, until January 6, 2009, she served as the First Lady of Ghana.
