IGP reaches STC bus terminal to address drivers about Easter safety
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, visited the STC Transpor Yard in Accra on Good Friday to address drivers who would be transporting people for the Easter holiday.
The action is being taken to guarantee road safety over the Easter break.
In addition to the STC Transport Yard, IGP Akuffo Dampare also spoke with drivers and interacted with managers at the Circle VIP Bus Terminal.
Easter weekend runs from Friday, April 7 through Monday, April 10, and these dates have been designated official holidays.
As more people travel to celebrate Easter with family and friends, there is typically an increase in traffic accidents around this time of year.
Therefore, it is anticipated that the IGP’s gesture will make drivers more aware of the importance of maintaining their safety at all times.
