VGMA-rapid news gh

The annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), which are perhaps one of the biggest nights not just in the Ghanaian music business but the entertainment sector as a whole, have been a terrific place for fashion enthusiasts to display their own costumes.

Additionally, on Saturday, May 6, the Red Carpet at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) welcomed celebrities from the entertainment industry dressed to the nines.

The event was beautifully infused with elegance thanks to Nana Ama McBrown, Nadia Buari, Piesie Esther, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Amerado, Anita Akuffo, and others like James Gardiner.

At the VGMA, a variety of fashion gaffes and sartorial disasters were on exhibit, including excessive ruffles, strange color combinations, clashing patterns, and oddly shaped attire.

Here are our top five fashion fails from celebrities whose choice of outfit for the night failed to impress.

DJ Azonto, who entered with the poorest fashion judgment, bares all. He appeared on the red carpet sporting long, feminine, Barbie-esque nails that caused a stir.

After Kwabena Kwabena’s VGMA visit, many questions remained unanswered. The ‘Adult Music’ singer attended this year’s VGMA sporting what appeared to be a feminine ensemble—a sparkly blouse and leggings.

Chris Ayomide Nunies, a socialite and fashion influencer, made a dull red carpet arrival wearing an ensemble with odd color combinations and clashing patterns. A real failure!

Although Berla Mundi is known for always arriving at events in nearly immaculate yet respectable attire, her sparkling gown and hoodie ensemble that revealed her cleavage offended many of her followers. Social media responses suggest that Berla this time missed the mark.

And finally, Rapper Medikal showed up at the venue as the male version of American rapper Doja Cat!

The 24th annual VGMAs, which were hosted by Charterhouse, surely brought excitement and delight to the victors while obviously deflating the losers and rewarding fans and supporters with electrifying performances from their favorite artists.
