Passengers burned alive in Gomoa Potsin accident

Two people were burned to death and two other passengers were seriously injured in a horrific accident at Tonisco Quarry near Potsin junction.

On the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region, a Hyundai Elantra saloon car with registration number GW 4260-22 attempted a wrongful overtaking.

According to information gathered at the scene, the saloon car veered off the road and collided with two articulator cars while attempting to overtake.

The white saloon car collided with the first articulator, registration number GL 736-13, before colliding with another trailer, registration number GS 3913-11, in the side.

An eyewitness told Adom News’ Seth Kofi Adjei that the two people trapped in the first articulator, a driver and his passenger, were burned to death, while the passengers in the other articulator escaped unharmed.

The driver and his female passenger in the saloon car, on the other hand, were injured and were rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital by district police.

Meanwhile, Inssah Alidu, the driver of the second articulator truck, says they attempted to save the victims but were thwarted by the fire that erupted in front of the truck.

The burnt passengers were still trapped in the car as of the time of filing this report.
